How to Register for an Online Course

First, please familiarize yourself with the Who Can Register information.

Starr King registration periods are consistent with the Graduate Theological Union registration periods. See the academic calendar for important dates.

Please note: early registration is strongly recommended, as many classes have limited enrollment, thus spaces are filled until the limit is reached and many classes reach the enrollment limit during early registration.

To access your course after registration is complete, see Logging In to an SKSM Online Course.

Students enrolled in a degree program at Starr King School (or any other Graduate Theological Union school) should follow the registration processes outlined by their school’s registrar.  Starr King’s processes are listed in the Starr King Student Handbook (password required to view).

Steps to Register for an Online Course (for non-degree students)

  1. Determine if course requires a PIN to register. Many online courses have limited enrollment and require the instructor's approval and a PIN to register. Check the course description on the course listing page for notation "PIN Required".
  2. If PIN is not required, skip to step 3. If PIN is required, the student needs to submit a course PIN request to the instructor. A PIN must be received from the instructor before submitting registration form.
  3. Fill out a course registration form and submit it with your tuition payment. See Course Registration Form Instructions below.
